Most analogue components are designed in isolation and marketed with claims that rarely survive scrutiny. The bearing. The headshell material. The geometry. Each optimised independently, each presented as definitive — without full consideration of what happens before and after in the chain.

A stylus tracking a groove is the beginning of a complete mechanical and acoustic journey. Every decision made along that journey either serves the music or compromises it.

Bisono designs from the groove out.

The Stratos

Stratos was designed from the groove out — geometry, tube construction, and counterweight architecture considered as a single mechanical and acoustic problem rather than a set of separate parts.

Geometry
Raised headshell places the stylus on the horizontal bearing axis. Pure vertical warp translation — no arc, no coupling.
Arm Tube
Power-law tapered composite with transmission-line bore. Energy conducted away, not stored or reflected.
Counterweight
High-mass brass, low and close to the bearing. Tracking force held by gravity, not by a spring.
Bearing
Offset gimbal architecture. Each axis constrains only its intended motion — no cross-axis coupling.
